Please visit my Dia de los muertos TAB for information on my blog.

We will be creating an altar for our loved ones that have passed on.  Although this holiday is a religious one----it is one of the largest holidays celebrated in Mexico and it is an integral part of many latino countries and as such we will be celebrating it in our own way, honoring loved ones who have passed on.

I have informed students that they can bring an item that reminds them of their loved one, if they don't have someone that they care about that passed on they can make someone up.  It can be an pet, person, etc.  (picture, blanket, toy, item that was theirs, etc.) (Due:  October 31st)

We will also be having their favorite food and bring it to share with the class.  (Due:  NOV 2nd)

During Dia de los muertos many hispanics make their loved one's favorite food, along with pan de los muertos (bread of the dead) and Mole (a chocolate chili).

I will be providing pan de los muertos.  November 2nd we will be sharing the favorite food of our loved one.  Each student should bring enough to share with the class.  (it can be as simple as carrots)

I am in need of a few donations:  colorful tissue paper (paper flowers), one package of pipe cleaners, string or yarn (one bundle).

We will be creating a poem and introduce our loved one in Spanish on November 1st.
Students are required to look up words needed to introduce their loved one to the class.  (short, tall, blonde, brown haired, grandpa, aunt, dog, etc.  They will also be required to say at least 2 things their loved one liked to do.)  (currently we are only working on verbs in present tense, so it will be fine if they say it in present tense right now.)
